it’s in the details [AL]

Over the weekend, I hopped over to Atlanta to visit with Jenny while she was in town for work and we stayed at the lovely Stonehurst Place.  The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with many thoughtful details.  Artwork, books, chocolate, and coffee are available for guests to indulge in.  Caroline, the innkeeper, is most hospitable and knowledgeable on the history of the house and origin of the furnishings and finishes. She can bake a mean puff pastry too! The photos are just a peak into the beautiful interiors of this wonderful B&B.  [all photos from Stonehurst Place]

over the weekend i went to a dirty santa party with a local gift theme. we had so much fun seeing what everyone came up with.  inspired by the party, below are a few more ideas that would make great gifts from wonderful boutiques & organizations around town.

with this ring {LA}

my sweet baby sister recently got engaged & i could not be more excited.  congratulations to {e+w}!!! of course, with wedding bells ringing in less than a year we are in the frenzy of wedding planning . . . which i absolutely love.  i love the lists, the organizing, the exquisite details, the DIY’s, the cakes, photography, beautiful bouquets, and the gorgeous gowns.  while perusing wedding blogs last week, i came across the truly unique and fabulous jewelry design duo at {Bario-Neal} jewelry.

from their website, “Bario-Neal is the collaborative work of designers Anna Bario and Page Neal. Bario-Neal promotes transparency, fair trade initiatives, and the development of third-party certification systems for ethical jewelry.” so in addition to being thoughtful, environmentally aware, and ethically sourced, these ladies are true crafts{wo}man who create simple yet extraordinary pieces. how’s a girl to choose?

avalon hotel {AL}

while in la, i stayed a night at the {avalon hotel}, a unique boutique in beverly hills designed by kelly wearstler. this modern, mid-century space was absolutely beautiful & filled with classic furniture pieces designed by the famous george nelson, isamu noguchi, and charles & ray eames.  i absolutely loved the color palette with white, various shades of blues & greens, contrasted with pops of gold metals & dark woods. the variety of texture and pattern added energy & interest while maintaining a relaxed, laid back atmosphere. loved the continuous striped ceiling & terrazzo floors flowing from inside to out with solid sheets of glass walls separating the interior and exterior environments. if every back in beverly hills, i will surely stay here again.
